Peter began his tax career in 2000 as an attorney at Hill & Barlow in Boston, where he focused his practice on mergers and acquisitions and tax planning for large corporations and high-net worth individuals. Following the dissolution of that firm in 2003, Peter moved back to his home state of Maine and accepted a position in the tax department at a large regional accounting firm, where he later earned his CPA designation. During his twelve-year tenure, Peter had the opportunity to design and implement the firm’s paperless system, as well as serve as a Director and Chair of the tax department.
Prior to his career as a tax attorney and CPA, Peter served as a math teacher in the Peace Corps in Zimbabwe (1991-94), and later worked as a math teacher at Hebron Academy (1994-96).
Peter, along with his co-founders Walker and Kelly, founded Dufour Tax Group, LLC on January 1st, 2015 with a sole mission to provide strategic and comprehensive tax planning and compliance services to businesses and individuals worldwide.
Peter is a graduate of the University of Maine, with a B.S., with high distinction, in Applied Mathematics. He earned his dual Law degree, cum laude, and M.B.A. at Boston College.
Walker began his tax career at a large regional accounting firm in 2011, as an associate working in both the tax and audit groups. After his initial year there, he decided to focus his practice solely on tax and was quickly assigned some of the largest and most complex corporate clients in the firm. Walker earned his CPA designation in the fall of 2014.
Walker is a co-founder of Dufour Tax Group, LLC, and focuses his practice on tax planning and compliance for our business clients.
Walker received his B.A. in History and Classics, magna cum laude, in 2008 from Williams College, where he also served on an advisory board for faculty hiring and taught swing dancing with his wife, Allie. He received his certificate degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Maine in 2012.
Lacy began her accounting career at a well-known local firm following an internship during the 2014 tax season. In the winter of 2016 she completed her Masters in Accounting at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and gained her CPA license in January 2018.
Lacy provides planning and compliance services to closely held businesses across various industries and high net worth individuals. Following a 2019 merger with a nationally recognized accounting firm, Lacy gained comprehensive experience with multi-state compliance and was a member of the firm’s State and Local Tax team.
In addition to her commitment to providing clients with outstanding service, Lacy is also active in the local community. She is the Treasurer for a local non-profit, Women Standing Together, a member of the Developing Leaders Committee for the Maine Society of CPAs, and a AICPA Leadership Academy Graduate- 2019.

Kelly began her career in accounting at Verrill Dana, LLP, where she worked for many years on a variety of corporate and payroll-related matters. Kelly also has extensive experience in event management for non-profits, having managed one of the area’s premier charity auctions for many years (and raising well over six figures during her tenure) as well as many other charitable fundraising and social events.
Kelly is a co-founder of Dufour Tax Group, LLC, overseeing and managing all aspects of the firm’s administrative and accounting functions. She focuses her tax practice on tax planning and compliance for individuals.
Katie joined the team in 2017, facilitating in the expansion of our firm by assisting with the firm’s administrative and accounting functions. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures; manages and oversees the administration of HR policies, programs and practices within the firm; she maintains accounts payable, receivables and billing.
Katie can schedule you an appointment, help you access your tax documents and assist in getting any questions that you may have answered. Katie is always happy and available to help clients with anything they may need, ensuring that your needs are met as quickly as possible.
Sam started his tax career here at Dufour Tax Group as an intern during the 2019 tax season, later joining the team full time.
When not helping out clients with tax compliance, he enjoys spending time outdoors in any way possible be that snowboarding in the winter or hiking in the summer.
A native of Portland, Sam chose to stay local and received his B.S. in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration and a minor in Biology from the University of Southern Maine in the spring of 2019. During his time at USM he was a three time, first-team, all-conference selection and two time defensive player of the year with the men’s lacrosse team.
Michael received his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Small Business and Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern Maine in the summer of 2019. During his time at USM he was the secretary of the Accounting Society.
Michael started his tax career at a well-respected regional CPA firm as an intern during the 2019 tax season. He joined the Dufour Tax Group Team in the summer of 2019 and always happy to help clients with tax compliance.

Noah began his tax career at a reputable CPA firm in Bangor handling individual and small business returns. He recently joined the Dufour Tax Group team and is dedicated to helping clients with tax compliance.
He received his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Maine, Orono in the spring of 2020. While there, he held multiple accounting tutoring sessions for students and worked as a teaching assistant in the accounting department.
When not assisting clients with tax compliance, he enjoys working out and fixing vehicles.
Heather’s tax career began when she joined Dufour Tax Group as a seasonal tax preparer beginning in 2022. She is a graduate of the University of Maine, Farmington where she earned a B.S. in Elementary Education and a graduate of the University of Maine, Presque Isle where she earned a B.A. in Accounting.
When Heather is not preparing taxes, she enjoys spending time with family and doing outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and skiing.
Ethan joined Dufour Tax Group for the 2023 income tax filing season. Ethan began his career in tax accounting at a local firm during the 2018 filing season while he was studying at Southern Maine Community College (SMCC), where he also worked as a math and writing tutor. After graduating from SMCC with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration as well as an Associate's Degree in Liberal Studies in the spring of 2019, Ethan obtained a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting from the University of Southern Maine (USM), graduating cum laude, in the fall of 2020.
Following his graduation from USM, Ethan worked at a large regional accounting firm for three tax filing seasons. At this firm, he gained experience with a variety of individual, business, trust, gift, and estate tax issues including multi-state apportionment for regional businesses, special allocations for partnerships, international tax issues, and disclaimed assets. He was involved with several of the firm's largest individual and business tax engagements and has experience with businesses in multiple industries, such as construction, property management, and investment management.
Prior to beginning his career in accounting, Ethan served two terms of national service with AmeriCorps in their LearningWorks program. He enjoys playing guitar and biking the Eastern Trail.
Dave joined our team in January of 2024. He comes to us with a background in small business and bookkeeping. He is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and there he earned a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
Dave lives in Scarborough with his wife and son and spends his free time enjoying all the things that Maine has to offer. In the summer, he can be found camping with his family, hiking and playing golf or tennis. In the colder months he can be found snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and playing volleyball.
Megan joined Dufour Tax Group in July 2021. She assists with administrative matters, such as greeting clients, managing calendars, planning meetings, composing documents, and organizing offices for efficiency. She interacts professionally with all levels of staff and maintains the highest level of confidentiality. Megan also answers the phones and promptly and courteously assists clients and employees throughout the organization.
Megan grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Maine in June of 2020 with her boyfriend and their two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, deep-sea fishing, and horseback riding.
Jenna joined Dufour Tax Group in February 2024. As a key member of our administrative team, Jenna assists in all aspects of client service enhancement and firm logistics. She graduated May of 2023 from UMass Amherst where she completed a BA in Communications with concentration in Media Studies.
Jenna enjoys crafting and staying active in her free time.
